Functional Applications
Scalp
Silica contributes to structural support functions in keratin-producing tissues.
Supports microcirculatory balance when incorporated into conditioning systems.
Demonstrates mild soothing properties in extract form.
Hair Fiber
Silica is associated with improved tensile strength and reduced brittleness.
May assist in minimizing breakage through structural reinforcement.
Supports surface smoothness when integrated into lipid-based compositions.
Skin
Silicon compounds are linked to collagen-supportive processes.
Supports elasticity maintenance and barrier structure.
Exhibits antioxidant activity that may reduce environmental oxidative stress.
Oral Care (Traditional Use)
Demonstrates antimicrobial activity in extract form.
Historically associated with maintaining oral microbial balance.
Nails
Silica contributes to keratin reinforcement.
Supports resilience in brittle or weak nail structures when included in conditioning systems.
Traditional Lineage
Bamboo has longstanding use in Asian medicinal and structural traditions. Silica-rich extracts have been incorporated into botanical preparations supporting connective tissue integrity.
Sensory Profile
